- Make sure the full card is visible on screen before scanning.
- Best results come from a steady, clear frame. Hide chat overlays or controls if you can.
- Some live apps let you hide controls with a gesture, such as swiping left.
- Bright, even lighting usually helps when the source video is a live camera feed.
Privacy Policy
Last updated:
CardHawk is designed to identify Pokémon cards from screen capture sessions on your device. CardHawk does not require an account, does not sell personal information, and does not include ads or in-app purchases in the current app.
CardHawk uses screen capture permission only when you start an active scanner session. Captured frames are processed for card recognition. CardHawk does not upload screenshots or scanner frames to external servers; all image processing for card recognition is performed entirely offline on your local device.
CardHawk may store recent discoveries, downloaded card database files, card images, price references, and app settings on your device so the app can work quickly and remember your history.
CardHawk may use internet access to download card database updates from public release files, load card images, open support pages, and open third-party price or market links that you choose to visit. Those external sites are governed by their own privacy policies.
CardHawk may request overlay permission to show scanner controls on top of other apps, and notification permission to keep an active scanner session visible while it is running.
The current app uses local diagnostic logging for development and troubleshooting. If third-party analytics or crash reporting is added later, this policy will be updated before that data collection begins.
